Private events, a rebuilt floor plan editor, and guest reputation

v0.12.xJul 6, 2026

A complete private events workflow, a rebuilt floor plan editor, and guest reputation to catch repeat no-shows.

This release is one of the biggest yet. Private event requests grow into a complete workflow, the floor plan editor is rebuilt from the ground up, and a new guest reputation system helps you protect your service from repeat no-shows. It also brings smarter table assignment, more reliable guest messaging, and a much better experience on iPad and touch devices.

Highlights

  • A complete private events workflow, from request to confirmation, with automated guest messages
  • A rebuilt floor plan editor with a drawing tool, layouts, and faster editing
  • Guest reputation: spot repeat no-shows before they cost you a table
  • Smarter seating: approved table combinations, venue-wide auto-assign defaults, and preference-aware assignment
  • Services that run past midnight are now fully supported
  • A faster, more polished experience on iPad and touch screens

Private events

Private event requests now run through a full workflow, so nothing falls through the cracks.

0:00 / -:--
  • Work requests through clear workflow tabs, from new to confirmed or declined.
  • Guests automatically receive a message when their request is received and another when it is confirmed.
  • Declining is kinder and faster: set up your own decline reasons per venue, each with an editable message template.
  • A process checklist keeps every request on track, with tap-to-dial and call notes for phone follow-ups.
  • Event spaces get tidy, dedicated floor views, and the events page now matches the look and feel of your reservations page.
  • If a requester already exists in your guest book, the request links to their existing profile instead of creating a duplicate.

Floor plan editor, rebuilt

The floor plan editor has been redesigned end to end.

  • A cleaner editor shell with a smoother canvas and better panels.
  • Draw zones and custom shapes directly on the plan.
  • Manage multiple layouts for the same room.
  • Editing is noticeably faster, especially on larger floor plans.

Guest reputation

A new reputation system helps you make informed decisions before you give away a prime table.

  • Configure how reputation is evaluated for your organization.
  • Guests with a history of no-shows are flagged when they book again, and staff see a clear warning before confirming a booking for them.
  • Online booking channels can automatically apply your reputation rules.
  • A "sorry we missed you" message can go out automatically after a no-show.
  • New tools to merge duplicate guest profiles keep your guest book clean.

Smarter seating and table assignment

  • Define approved table combinations, and Covers will only combine tables the way you allow.
  • Set a venue-wide auto-assign default, with per-service overrides when a night needs different handling.
  • Choose your seating strategy once at the venue level; individual services inherit it and can override it.
  • Auto-assignment now honors each guest's preferred seating area.
  • Capacity checks now count reservations that don't have a table yet, so online availability stays honest.
  • Pick any table from a searchable list when creating a reservation.

Service View

  • A no-show list gives you tonight's no-shows in one place, with one-tap reinstate.
  • When a seat opens up, Covers alerts you to waitlist parties that fit it.
  • Jump to any time of the night with the new time picker.
  • Guarded against accidental double-booking when dragging reservations.
  • The optimizer now explains its suggestions with a clear before-and-after comparison.
  • The door list, guest list mode, becomes a fast, flat tick sheet with occupancy at a glance.
  • Action buttons across the app are clearer and more consistent.

Services past midnight

Services that cross midnight, like a dinner that runs into the early hours or a late-night lounge, are now fully supported across booking, availability, and the Service View. This also fixes a batch of availability bugs around service edits, closures, and last-seating times.

Messaging

  • Set your arrival reminder to the timing you want; reminders now fire reliably from every booking path and honor your configured lead time.
  • A guest's voice calls and text messages now flow into one conversation thread instead of splitting into duplicates.
  • Reply faster with time-aware quick replies based on the guest's reservation.
  • Conversations resolve deliberately, and staff replies are attributed to the right person by name.

Voice assistant

  • The voice assistant can now put callers on the waitlist and the guest list, not just book tables.
  • It understands each service's booking mode from the start of the call, so it never offers something the venue can't honor.
  • Long calls are more reliable: the assistant keeps its context for the entire conversation.

Booking widget and branding

  • The widget preview in settings stays in view while you scroll, and QR codes export in high resolution.
  • The widget loads with your theme from the first moment, with no color flashes.
  • Uploaded images are automatically optimized, so pages load faster for your guests.
  • Email templates gain a header cover image and a branded footer, with a smoother editing experience.
  • When your booking link is shared, the preview card now shows your venue's cover photo and name, and your favicon appears in the browser tab.
  • Typing international phone numbers is smoother: the country updates from the number itself and your typed digits are preserved.

Onboarding and setup

A redesigned setup flow lets you pick just the modules you need, with a Go Live checklist that walks you to your first live service.

Notifications

The notification panel has a fresh design with tabs, clear-all, and per-user read state that follows you across devices.

iPad and touch

  • A major round of polish for iPad and touch screens: bigger touch targets, a smarter keyboard experience, smoother rotation, and haptic feedback.
  • The floor plan editor now works properly with touch, so you can edit your room from a tablet.

Reliability and security

  • Reservations made through Google stay perfectly in sync, no matter where your team edits them.
  • Continued security hardening across the platform, including stricter browser protections and tighter API credential controls.
