A help center, wallet passes, and hold-until-paid deposits

v0.14.xJul 21, 2026

A new help center with guides, tickets, and a public roadmap, Apple and Google Wallet passes from Pass Studio, and deposits that hold the table until they are paid.

This release opens a new front door for getting help. The Covers help center brings step-by-step guides, a place to report problems and track our replies, and a public roadmap you can vote on, all reachable from a Help menu inside the app. Pass Studio now produces real Apple and Google Wallet passes, deposits can hold a table until the guest pays, and guests can tell you where they would like to sit as they book.

Highlights

  • A help center at help.usecovers.com with guides, walkthrough videos, and search
  • Report a problem or request a feature, then follow our replies in one place
  • A public roadmap you can vote on, plus a page that tracks what is new
  • A Help menu inside the app takes you straight to the right page
  • Pass Studio now produces real Apple and Google Wallet passes, with a live preview as you design
  • Hold a table until the deposit is paid, so an unpaid booking never ties up a prime table
  • Let guests tell you where they would like to sit as they book

The Covers help center

Covers now has a help center at help.usecovers.com. It holds step-by-step guides for every part of the app, written for people who run restaurants, with real screenshots and walkthrough videos. Search covers every page, so you can type what you are stuck on and land on the answer.

The help center is also where you talk to us:

  • Report a problem or request a feature. Submit a ticket, and every reply from our team lands on the same page. You can add comments, and you get an email when there is news.
  • Vote on the roadmap. See what we are building next, vote for what matters to your venue, and follow items to hear when they ship.
  • What's new. Every release gets a page like this one, grouped by month, so you can catch up after a busy stretch.

You sign in with the same account you use for Covers; there is no separate password. Your votes and tickets follow your account.

Help from inside the app

A new Help menu in the app links straight to the help center: browse the guides, submit a ticket, or open the roadmap without hunting for a bookmark. Look for Get Help in your account menu.

Wallet passes go live

Pass Studio, the designer for Apple and Google Wallet passes, now produces the real thing. The pass a guest adds to their phone is the one you designed, with your colors and logo, and the live preview in Pass Studio shows exactly what they will see before you publish a single change.

Hold the table until it's paid

When a booking needs a deposit, you can now hold the table until the guest pays. For a booking you or your team make by phone or in person, the guest gets a payment link and the table is held for them in the meantime. If the deposit is not paid within the window you choose, the table is released automatically, so a forgotten payment never quietly keeps a busy-night table off the floor. Payment links now also try every channel you have, so a guest without one contact method still gets the link on another.

Seating preferences at booking

Guests can now tell you where they would like to sit as part of booking. You pick which seating areas to offer, and the choices come straight from your own floor plan zones, so a guest can ask for the patio or a spot at the bar without sending a separate message. It stays optional, so it never slows down a quick booking. The areas offered always match the room the booked service actually uses.

Smaller improvements

  • Event overlays on the floor plan now line up with rotated tables.
  • The events page opens on the same filter its counts describe, so the list and the numbers agree.
